Moldova is a small country located between Romania and Ukraine. Formerly a part of the USSR, it is now independent. These pages contain photos, short video clips, and some emails or stories I wrote about Moldova during several trips there.

Dec 2001 * This was the first trip! I was nervous, and didn't know what to expect. The first time going somewhere is always the most exciting.

If you're going to Moldova alone, this may well be the most useful site you'll find. Marisha offers cheap and comfortable accomodation, and a host of other services - anything you need really - for pretty reasonable fees. She can probably even organize some things which locals might not be able to, so check out the site!

General information about travel in Moldova.

Radu was my savior in getting me an invitation for Moldova for my second trip. I used his services again on my 3rd trip. He seems to be able to arrange almost anything! Check out his website, and also his Yahoo Moldova Travel group as well.

These guys took care of all of my visas, and passport issues. They can also sometimes help with invitations, if you need them.

Tony Hawks is an English comedian/crazy person who once bet a friend 100 English pounds that he couldn't hitch-hike around the circumfrance of Ireland with a fridge. In this book, he makes a similarly crazy bet that he can't beat the entire Moldovan national soccer team at a game of tennis. At stake - full nudity and a severe test of Romanian singing skills. A very insightful book. I've read it 5 times!
